“I have never written a review before, and probably will not again, but this hotel is worth shouting about. If you think this hotel is going to be just another hotel in a hotel chain, then think again.Mehari Hammamet must be the jewel in world's crown. It is a fabulous hotel which is spotlessly clean and has staff that are so friendly and just can't do enough to please.Rooms and public areas are so clean and well equipped, and as for the food...they don't know the meaning of portion control. The food is excellent, well presented, plenty of choice, and a salad buffet bar to fill you up before the starters, main course and desserts even arrive. A tip; take clothes with elastic waistbands with you - you'll need them. You are allocated your own table in the dining room for the duration of the stay, a bonus as far as my husband was concerned, as it meant no hunting for an emplty table. If you want to eat in the hotel during the day then the pool-side snack bar area provdes for that, again good food and mega portions. The gala dinner night, set out in the pool snack bar is such an experience, such a lovely setting, lit by candles, with music, and of course the dinner itself. You are in for a real treat. There is no need to worry about overcrowding round the pool or on the sun terrace, as there is always plenty of space, and staff will position your sunbed exactly where you want it. This is the first time I've been to a hotel and people have not staked a claim to a sunbed with a towel at the crack of dawn. Some evenings entertainment is provided in the form of a singing duo, but mainly its sitting on the terrace sipping drinks and watching the sunset. It is easy to get into Sorrento at anytime, as the hotel has a shuttle bus which runs the 15 minutes journey into the heart of the town on the hour from early till late, and is both convenient and reliable. I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels that I've ever stayed in..in a word, superb.”
