“Hotel Abtei has created a beautiful, modern, green hotel in an old building, and pulled it off perfectly. The young staff are hip and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable and well designed. There's a 24 hour kitchen of sorts off the lobby with snacks and drinks, all included. It was super hot in the city, so I very much appreciated all the free waters. The clientel was a real cross section. A few seniors, mostly 30-40ish people and a few little families. The area is in transition, so it's a tad sketchy in some places -- in a pick pocket way, not a dangerous way -- so stay alert. Overall, it's an A+. One of my all-time favorite hotels. I'd book again in a heartbeat.”

This is the name given to Hamburg- the birthplace of Brahms and Karl Lagerfeld- a romantic and chic metropolis with its embankments to stroll along and its highly diverse cultural life. It is said that the glory of the Beatles began here when they gave a concert which was to change the face of the world of pop. The first gem to be discovered in Hamburg was the Hotel Abtei- with its classic English design- colorful and light-filled. The perfect location close to the Alstersee- the artificial lake- where the people of Hamburg flock to indulge in water sports as soon as the first rays of sun appear. The property is closed for business during the year over the following dates- 24Dec10-27Dec10 The rooms are very large with a sitting area and fire place and a beautiful bathroom.
