It is the largest island of Rovinj archipelago and is connected with the island of Maskin by a small bridge. The islands are surrounded by attractive pebbly and stone beaches and by beautiful Mediterranean flora which cohabitate magnificently with an old castle which was originally a Benedictine monastery but since 1890 belonged to Baron Georg von Hutterott who renovated it as his private villa which was visited by many famous people of that time. Nowadays visitors can enjoy its romantic atmosphere sitting on the terrace of a la carte restaurant situated in it. Attractions
Lim fjord
The fjord situated between Vrsar and Rovinj represents a sunken canyon valley in karst. It is 10 km long, the average width is 600 m and the deepest point (33 m) is at the entrance. The area is a natural hatching site for many fish species.
Palud Ornithological Reserve
Only 10 km from Rovinj are brackish wetlands with interesting flora and vegetation, including several rare plant species. The area is characterized by a diverse and rich bird life, especially wetland birds during nesting, winter stays and migrations.
Old town core of Rovinj

Church of St. Euphemia

This is the oldest protected site in Istrian County, having a high aesthetic and botanical value. The erection of the park forest began in the second half of the 19th century, during the time of Baron Hutterott.
