“Hotel is new and sleek and efficient. Amazingly comfortable bed, nice size bath. I think it would be considered a 5 star in Europe...including beautiful breakfast and a rooftop bar that is a great escape. Location was good for going in any direction. Staff warm and sincerely helpful; concierge a blessing.”

Manoir De Bellerive staff will make all possiable to make you feel like at home. This hotel will be closed from 30th November 2008 until 12 February 2009.

All the staff were informative, professional and extremely friendly. In the heart of foie gras country on the sleepy banks of the Dordogne, Manoir de Bellerive is a 19th century manor house set in 10 acres of pretty wooded parkland with a Michelin-starred restaurant and a welcoming ambience.

Outside, you will discover parkland and trees and the slow winding river, perfect for summer boating and riverside picnics. Inside, everything is distinctly elegant with a country-house motif and pretty rooms and suites with river or garden views. The ambience is one of extreme relaxation and the peaceful library is perfect for reflective moments.

Sit by the pool with the sound of the river in the background. Make the most of your stay and opt for a cookery class using regional ingredients such as foie gras, ceps mushrooms and truffles. Visit the nearby Maxange Caves with their unique crystal formations or the nearby Chateau de Lanquais. Return for dinner in Les Delices d Hortense and experience the amazing degustation menu.
