“Second stay in this wonderful hotel, located in a quiet neighborhood, just a couple of blocks from Musée D'Histoire Naturelle et D'Ethnographie and Saint-Martin Collegiale Church. Breakfasts are delicious, the rooms very comfortable and user friendly (though I wish the extra room had a coffee table or extra end table since we ate and drank in their some), the WIFI worked perfectly, and the 24/7 canteen is almost priceless.”

Hotel Hostellerie Le Marechal - Overview

The bathrooms and bedrooms are large, bright and very comfortable. Marechal is tucked alongside the River Lauch in the heart of one of the prettiest towns in Alsace. The hotel s exterior is reminiscent of the Middle Ages while the gastronomic restaurant with its delightful summer terrace, brings you back to the modern day.

Lovely setting and very friendly staff and atmosphere. Reflecting the history of the property, rooms are cosy with wood beams, antique furniture and canopied or four-poster beds. Enjoy a candlelit dinner accompanied by classical music, at A l Echevin restaurant that serves regional dishes and local wines befitting the capital of the Alsace Route du Vin.

Wander through the winding streets of Colmar, dating back to the 11th century, where you can marvel at the medieval and Renaissance architecture. A must-see is the Issenheim Alterpiece painting by Mathias Grunewald in the Unterlinden Museum. Also look out for the statues by Batholdi, the creator of the Statue of Liberty.
