“I took my 2 year old son on a trip to Shenzhen having found cheap flights, and booked Grand City Hotel . It's hard to put your finger on why this place is so special. Is it the fact that the communication from the owners is so good when you book, and that they try to answer all your questions before you arrive so you have no worries arriving in a strange foreign city with a young child? Is it the immaculate Mercedes taxi they booked for us that took us both ways and was there to meet us at the airport on arrival with no problems? Or the hidden location down a side street that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a local, in fact I didn't hear English spoken once which I loved! Actually it's probably all these things, but over and above all this it has to be the fantastic welcome you get from someone who really cares that you enjoy your stay in Shenzhen. I booked a one bedroom apartment for us however on arrival concierge told me they had upgarded us to a 2 bedroom to allow me to have my own room. This was fantastic as I could put my little boy to sleep and then relax in my room with a glass of wine and nibbles - fab. Needless to say we will definitely be going back to Grand City Hotel to visit more of this beautiful city very soon.”
